Federal Student Loan Request Form

Please do not complete this form unless you have already submitted your FAFSA and have been awarded federal student loan eligibility by the CMCC Office of Financial Aid.  Requests that are submitted prior to these events occurring will not be processed.

Important: You must be enrolled for a minimum of six credit hours per semester at the time of your loan disbursement for your loan to be disbursed.  The Financial Aid Office will confirm your enrollment and participation in your courses to determine your eligibility prior to disbursing your loan funds.

Important: If you are a first-time college student and a first-time borrower of a federal student loan, federal regulations require us to delay the first disbursement of your loan funds until 30 days after the start of the semester.

Important: At CMCC, federal student loan funds are always disbursed in at least two parts.  If the loan is disbursed over just one term, the funds will still be split into at least two parts. Students who start the academic year in the fall term will have their loan funds disbursed half for fall, half for spring. 

Request your loan funds: Please select the academic year and semester(s) for which you are requesting to borrow funds.

Please note: We will always process your loan request as a subsidized loan to the extent that you are eligible, before processing an unsubsidized loan. However, if you request a subsidized Loan and you do not have sufficient subsidized eligibility, your loan will be processed as an unsubsidized Loan.

Subsidized

(The loan principal is deferred and the interest is paid by the federal government while you are in school at least 6 credit hours per semester and for up to 6 months after you cease to be enrolled at least 6 credits per semester.)

Unsubsidized

(The loan principal is deferred while you are in school at least 6 credit hours per semester and for up to 6 months after you cease to be enrolled at least 6 credits per semester.  You are responsible for the interest from the time the loan is disbursed.)
