NUR 112 Foundations of Nursing/Nursing Care of Adults9 Credits (5 Lecture 0 Lab 4 Clinical)17 Hours/Week (5 Hrs. Lecture 12 Hrs Clinical) *15 wksThis course emphasizes the acquisition of knowledge and skills by the student for the provision of basic patient care. Major focus areas for the student include professional behaviors, communication, techniques of physical assessment, critical thinking, nursing process, patient teaching strategies and the management of time and resources for the student and the provision of care. The student uses the classroom, the laboratory and clinical areas for practice and discus sion. Prerequisites: Admission to the Nursing Program; Co-requisites: BIO 115, 116; ENG 101 or ENG 105.
