ENG 050 Introduction to Academic Reading

Introduction to Academic Reading is an intensive course designed to prepare students for college-level reading. The course meets 3 hours/week and places college-level demands on students to read and respond to reading both inside and outside of class. Students will develop critical reading skills and learn to apply their understanding of texts to student-led class room discussion and oral presentations. Emphasis will be placed on the reading of literature, essays and college-level text books. Open only to matriculated students identified through CMCC?s placement test.
