ELT 276 Automation Systems
2 Credits (1 Lecture, 1 Lab, 0 Shop)
3 Hrs/Wk (1 Hr. Lecture, 2 Hrs. Lab) 15 wks.
This course focuses on advanced applications of robotics and automation in industry. Students will write programs to control industrial robots and robotic controller I/Os using native languages and Visual BASIC.NET. They will also use digital and analog Programmable Logic Controllers in conjunction with robot I/O to form complete workcells. Man Machine Interface (MMI) and Object Interface Terminal (OIT) will be used to integrate automation. This course includes an examination of Servo motors and feedback devices, End-Of-Arm tooling, and pneumatic systems using directional valves. Pre-requisites: ELT-221 and ELT-271.
