ECE 201 Effective Teaching Practices
3 Credits (3 Lecture 0 Lab 0 Shop)
3 Hrs/Wk (3 Hrs. Lecture) *15 wks
This course provides new students and new and experienced teachers with strategies that support successful classroom environments, effective teaching practices and family engagement techniques. Students apply skills and strategies directly in the classroom setting. This course focuses on trauma-informed and effective teaching practices, social-emotional foundations, classroom environments and routines, and supporting children with higher social-emotional and learning needs. Students will learn how these practices help create the foundation to support a successful classroom experience and ideal learning environment for all children. Prerequisite: ECE 100 or EDU 101 or a current early childhood education teacher.
