CRJ 257 Community Policing

This course will present a modern-day perspective on the evolving partnership between police and citizens in solving community problems. The subject matter will include a balance of theory and hands-on practice, and students will engage in supervised team-building activities with youths who participate in the Auburn Police Activities League (P.A.L.). We will explore how law enforcement serves as a safety net for a variety of social issues, and students will be exposed to some of the community resources utilized by police agencies. Prerequisite: A grade of C or higher in CRJ101.
