Description

Identity Theft and Protecting Your Money is offered through the Maine Money Academy.

This course is designed to teach individuals how to protect an their name, money, and assets from identity thieves. Other course objectives include types of identity theft, how personal information is obtained and used by identity thieves, real life scenarios of the impact of identity theft, and alternative investment vehicles for income producing assets.

Individuals attending should be over the age of 18. This course is recommended for those who utilize mobile devices for financial and sensitive information transfers, who use credit or debit cards at retail establishments, who have been notified of a data breach, and those who want to be proactive in securing their financial identity.

While this class is open to anyone, those with an available retirement statement should bring it to review current investments.
