Description

This is a fundamental course designed to give new public works employees the basic skills to build catch basins, manholes, laying in and cutting brick. Students will use a mock up of a manhole, catch basin and basin pipe to simulate real world experience. The course will cover a review of tools of the trade and safety equipment, the review of primary mortar types and the art of mortar mixing. The course will finish with a demonstration/hands on section on how to lay bricks and using water plugs.
