HVT 152 Heat Pumps3 Credits (1 Lecture, 0 Lab, 2 Shop) 7 Hrs/Wk (1 Hr. Lecture, 6 Hr. Shop) *15 wks.This course provides knowledge necessary to install, service, troubleshoot, and repair heat pumps. Emphasis will be placed on air-to-air systems; ground source systems will be introduced and briefly examined. Topics will include a review of the refrigeration cycle, reversing valves, the defrost cycle, defrost timers including electromechanical as well as solid state devices, balance point, and backup heat systems. Prerequisites: HVT 105 and HVT 111
